The Abundance of Life.

Well, well. The abundance of life has kept me occupied enough that I haven’t posted in too long. Please excuse! In a recent sermon, the minister mentioned it’s all in perspective. Change the “busyness of life” to the “abundance of life”. Sometimes you just need to see things through different eyes!

As I type this, I am sitting on a picnic table at a park with my chai tea and the noise of cars on a distant highway. This morning is the Saturday before the wedding of a childhood friend whose parents are my bonus uncle and aunt. The night before, our family had hosted the family supper. Alexa and I had set up the tables under the string lights in the back patio area. We decorated with old books, candle sticks, and vases and vases of white hydrangeas, snapdragons, and daisies. We ate family style around the three lifetime tables to the soft wind blowing and the sound of the birds singing merrily in the trees. It was a pleasant evening due to the many prayers that had been sent skyward for nice weather and the meal to turn out. God is good.

What is it with boys and loud cars? My younger brother B just got himself a little Audi. He painted the rims black, bought carbon fiber paddle shift extenders, and wants to do a chrome delete. His money I guess! :)

Boy’s Preparatory Class made a two week appearance in Kidron. It was such a good group of guys and many insane volleyball games, marble games, and edifying conversations were had. We heard later that they had a really good time. One even said he loved Ohio and that he would move if it wasn’t so humid! We made some good memories and now it’s time to catch up on sleep!

One evening Alexa and I decided to take two of our friends out for a birthday dinner. As always, we chose Basil. Since the moment we met at the restaurant, it was a nonstop buzz of conversation. At one point, we guffawed so loudly that people turned to look. We yapped about everything under the sun as we walked around downtown Wooster. It was so fun to hang out with those dear girls again, but it’s sad knowing that in a few weeks we will be in different places far from each other. :{ I’ll take the fun moments together while I can.

On my last full day at Pantry II, we cut up an angel food cake and ate it with strawberry pie filling. It was delicious! Oh how I’ll miss the yummy food and good conversations. We got in our favorite Italian food for lunch and just maybe took a longer lunch break than normal. To be honest, we couldn’t remember when we sat down after the bustle of customers. For whatever reason the tips have been crazy recently and after splitting between the three of us, I made over twenty-five dollars in two days. Quite good huh? It was bittersweet to drive away from the tan sided building for the last time. It took some adjusting at the beginning to wake up by five o’clock each morning, but how I came to enjoy those early morning drives to work, and the old men that sat around the table telling jokes, and the mailman who didn’t mind eating a brownie that had face planted into the floor, and especially my coworkers with whom I enjoyed many laughs, “tea spills”, karaoke sessions, and cinnamon rolls. It was such a fun summer job!

The weather in Ohio has been downright hot. If you lay in the sun for a few minutes, you very soon feel the need to jump into the cool pool sitting by the shop.

My sister and I recently had a fun little sister date. If you have a sister, I highly recommend. There was a gift card to Applebee’s sitting in my wallet. How perfect! Let’s go there. We ordered some fun drinks and appetizers before our main course. We really wanted to splurge since part of the meal was paid for. We talked all things school and went home with very full tummies. Successful sister bonding time!

Sewing and school things have taking up majority of my time. My mum has been helping me sew which has been a great help. There are boxes stacked around my room and half finished projects scattered across many a chair or table. I have my fingers crossed that everything fits in my little Civic. Thank goodness for the hatchback with its big trunk! It seems crazy that I leave in less than a week. I will spend these last precious days packing my life into boxes and suitcases. It does sound crazy. My sister is going to be my travel companion. We are going to stop along the way and do some fun things while we can. Kansas or bust!

I do hope I can post again before a month goes by;) Yours truly, a very busy author.
