Thankful Lists and Car Washes.

Will life ever slow down? After a self-expression meeting, the older lady sitting behind my friend and I said, “If time continues, one day you will be the older lady who doesn’t know when to get up!” That seems to be a long way off!

Someone recently told me that if I go somewhere to teach to make sure I would want to live there for the rest of my life. I just laughed. People seem to really want me married off.

⚞Here is a random thankful list since sometimes February is a hard month to be thankful about things.⚟

    1. The bouquet of flowers from a school mom. Oh the joy of having fresh flowers on my desk!
    2. Ice cream with mini dark chocolate chips after a church service.
    3. The sun peeking through the clouds.
    4. The ice on the roads has been cleared which is much more safe to drive on.
    5. An hour delay for school means a good old sit down breakfast of Dutch babies and orange juice!
    6. I am thankful for the remote start on my car key so I can start my car from the warmth of the indoors.
    7. Looking forward to a trip that is coming up. New York City with the sister and besties can’t come fast enough!
    8. Car payments have taught me to be more responsible with my money.
    9. What a golden time it is to have supper plans with a friend after many evenings of church!
    10. A generous school board wife brought a delicious lunch in for the teachers and we were treated to Chipotle one day as well!

Do you like car washes? Car wash time always excites me for some reason. How fun to drive in one side and come out the other side nice and clean. And those big brushes! It is mesmerizing to watch them sloshing and beating against the windows. I don’t enjoy washing my car by hand but what a relief to the pocket book that is. Here is a real tip to enjoy a car wash. Get yourself a frosty and French fries or maybe a Chick-fil-a sandwich or maybe just a coffee and have a little picnic while the machine washes your car!

Family dinner conversations are really interesting around our table. If you were a fly on the wall, you might hear about world happenings, or if God can see our eternal destination, or maybe you will hear us explaining car racing to our mum! It is quite fun to have banter and arguments and serious conversations around that table.

Overheard between youth guys: “All you need is WD-40 to keep things moving and duct tape to stop things from moving.” Also I learned to be wary of some youth guys because some youth guys have pepper spray.

Is sickness taking over your congregation? We have been suffering through a bout of flu in our area. It seems to be incredibly uncomfortable with high fevers and aches. On that note, students who have had a substitute teacher for four days are very ready to have their real teacher and normalcy back! Lo and behold, two days after writing that, your girl was flat out in bed with the sickness. I can’t remember the last time I was ill and this was one of the worst experiences in my sickness career. Bless those who subbed in for me and Advil, who turned out to be my greatest friend. So far I will miss three days of school, but if I am well for spring break, I will take it. And I do believe this is the first time I have ever had to ask off work. First time for everything, I guess. Hopefully no one here has to go through this  predicament and for that, lucky you!

A quote that has impressed me recently: “If you are supposed to be there, God will get you there.”  What peace knowing that my future is safe in His hands.
