The Introduction to This Blog.

     You may be wondering about the name of this blog. If you know me well, it makes perfect sense. If not, you may be a tad confused. Let me enlighten you.

    Butterflies: I came to love these creatures for their beauty. How pretty they are in all their color. They seem so delicate. I have clothing with butterflies on it and last year, I decorated my aid room in butterflies! For whatever reason during the summer, these beautiful winged creatures land on me quite often. Whether I am laying outside or leave my moon roof open, they seem to find me a great landing field. I guess there is just something with me and butterflies.

    Pickles: My mother’s side of the family has an affinity for pickles and it just so happened to take root in me as well. Homemade pickles far outweigh boughten ones although the Sam’s Club pickles are quite delicious! Another random fact about myself, I quite like drinking the pickle juice. So tasty! It is also fun to buy massive pickles the size of your fist from barrels full of the delightful things. I will gladly spend a dollar on happiness in a plastic deli bag! Side note: the onions that have been pickled with the homemade pickles are very delicious as well and I am not even really an onion person.  

    Light Blue: During the summer of ‘24, I fell in love with the coastal granddaughter theme. Light blue and white became my favorite colors. If it’s fabric or dishes or books, I will buy immediately. I also came to appreciate baskets and little woven things. Did I mention bows? Bows on totes and bows on candlestick holders and bows in my hair and bows on my dresses. Very cutesy! Very demure! True, maybe it is just a phase but it’s a very pretty feminine phase and I am a big fan! At this very moment, I am typing on my blue IPad in its light blue case in my classroom with its blue wall. I think I wore blue everyday of the first week of school as well. And did I mention my car is blue and my favorite white board marker is the blue one? Or that my lunchbox is blue and my hour tracking notebook is light blue with white bows? As I write these things down, it really does sound like everything in my life is blue. Trust me, they are actually just little things, but sometimes little things make the biggest difference!   

    So that is the reason for the name of the blog. It’s just me and my little life :)

Glimpses of Happiness.

 - a package of nerd clusters on my desk in the morning and a note, “have the best day!” I guess my desk was pretty clean! Thanks desk checkers! ;) - waking to a winter wonderland. The snow makes everything look so clean and pretty. - an answer to prayer. - the song, “I am only one in a million. One grain of sand by the sea. But He knows each step, each breath that I take and He loves me like an only child.” - a FaceTime from the sister. Always appreciated❥ - “You make it so easy for me to learn things with the charts and stuff!” I don’t think the dear child realized how much that little compliment meant to the struggling math teacher.  - a hot lemonade really does help cure a sore throat! - a heart to heart with the best friend in the Raising Cane’s parking lot. The best chats are in the car with food. Also it is just so fun to walk the mall or Target and try on funny sunglasses and laugh at how we look or smell the colognes in Hollister, which can result in a headache if one...

The Voting Game.

      An eventful evening was spent at the teacher house last night. After sitting around and modestly eating our snack of hot ham and cheese sandwiches, one girl suggested we should play The Voting Game. Everyone in the circle has a number and you voted for who’s most likely to do things and so on. How funny to see what others think about everyone else!  For instance:      “Who is most like to have their own reality TV show?” With one accord everyone voted for number six, number six being yours truly. Oop! I guess I’m just the dramatic one! I also managed to win the “liability when drunk” card. Hmm, wonder what that says about me?     “Who is most likely to show up to prom in a rental Lamborghini?” Everyone voted for number 10 who just so happened to be my little brother.
